Manjista (Rubia cordifolia)
Other Names: Rubia cordifolia, Indian Madder, Manjishtha, Manjit
Manjista: Root powder. Skin support & pacify high pitta (fire).
Action and uses as per Ayurveda: Tonic to tissues, plasma, blood and muscles. Anti-tumor, astringent, diuretic, emmenagogue, haemostatic, lithotriptic, best herb for blood purification; blood circulation, edema, amenorrhea, cancer, cleanses and regulates liver, spleen, pancreas, kidney and gall stone and heart problems.
Note: The quality and part of the plant used are highly important in the manufacturing and processing of herbal powders. Certain parts are more potent and effective than others.
