Ayurvedic Concept
Acidity is described as "Amla Pitta" in Ayurveda and, commonly, it occurs due to faulty eating habits because the Pitta (Fire) gets vitiated. This vitiation produces symptoms like Indigestion, Tiredness, Nausea, Acidic Belching, Heaviness in body, Heartburn, Anorexia, Laziness and Burning sensations.
Acidity ("Amla Pitta") is of two types
- Urdhva Amla Pitta (Fire) (Acidity in upper abdomen) Kapha (Water) associated with Ama (Undigested Food) is the main cause in this type. One may have vomiting of greenish yellow color and acidic in taste, belching of the taste of food taken, Heart burning, Burning sensation in soles and feet, Anorexia, Fever, Skin rashes and itching may occur.
- Adhog Amla Pitta (Fire) (Acidity or burning in lower abdomen) Pitta (Fire) associated with Ama (Undigested Food) is the main Dosha (Humor) in this case. One may have burning sensation during defecation, Thirst, Vertigo, Passing slur (Unformed Stool) of greenish or blackish color, Nausea, Urticaria, Indigestion, Sweating and Yellowish color of the body.
Modern View: Gastric glands present in the stomach secrete acids that help to digest the food. When due to intake of heavy and spicy food there is excessive secretion of acids, person experiences-acidity. This acidity can be due to various other factors also, likewise the presence of ulcers, unwanted growths in the stomach, unhealthy eating habits, faulty dietary plans etc.
Symptoms due to
Vata (Air) type: Shivering sensation during defecation, delirium, itching all over the body, vertigo, sluggishness in the body.
Pitta (Fire) type: Vertigo, Burning sensation in heart and body.
Kapha (Water) type: Ptyalism, heaviness in the body, drowsiness, vomiting, anorexia, feeling of cold, indigestion and itching.

Indigestion: When a person experiences burning or pain in the upper abdomen, or fullness during or after the meals we call it as indigestion or dyspepsia.
Flatulence: Flatulence may be defined as a bulging or swelling of the abdomen, due to the formation of gas in the intestine. Grumbling and rumbling sounds occur due to a inflated stomach.
Heartburn: It is where liquid content (Acid) of the stomach backs up into the esophagus or the food pipe.
Nausea: Feeling of vomiting is nausea. Nausea occurs in the upper gastrointestinal tract (Esophagus, Stomach, Small Intestine, Liver, Pancreas, and Gall bladder). It may be caused by pain, motion, medications and diseases of many non-gastrointestinal organs of the body.
Ulcer: An ulcer occurs when the lining of the Stomach, Duodenum or Esophagus is corroded by the acidic digestive juices which are secreted by the stomach cells. A peptic ulcer is a hole in the gut lining of the Stomach, Duodenum, or Esophagus. A peptic ulcer of the stomach is called a gastric ulcer; of the duodenum, a duodenal ulcer; and of the esophagus, an esophageal ulcer.

Other Herbs

Summary
Ayurveda describes these herbs as best antacid and mild laxative. These herbs are Vata (Air) and Pitta (Fire) pacifying agents. They reduce nausea, hyperacidity and even help the healing of peptic as well as duodenal ulcers. Their purgative action decreases the excess Pitta (Fire). They stimulate the secretion of healthy digestive enzymes and peristalsis. They decrease acidity due to their alkaline nature. This decrease of acidity takes place due to the digestive action of these herbs, which stimulate secretion of gastric juices. They also pacify the burning action of the Pitta (Fire).
Comments
All the herbs used in Netacid act as digestive tonic and reduce the excess Pitta (Fire).
For Better Results
- For Better Results use "Netacid Syrup" and "Netacid capsules" in combination.
- In case of minor constipation take 3 to 5 gm "Avipatikar Churna" after each meal along with "Netacid" or take "Triphala" along with a sugar candy at bed time.
- In case of chronic constipation use with "Body Pure".
- In case of excessive gas and fermentation take with "Gastro Care".
- In case of week digestion use with "Livrol Forte".
- For best results use water prepared with cumin and cardamom in early morning with empty stomach (5 gm cumin powder and 2 gm cardamom powder in a full glass of water kept soaked overnight).
- Try to keep the bowels clear.
Foods to Favor
Unpolished Rice (Preferably 2 years old ), Green Gram (Lentils) Soup, Sugar Candy, Honey, Bitter Gourd, Pomegranate, Amla (Indian Gooseberry), Dry Grapes, Green leafy vegetables, Coriander Leaves, Peppermint, Cold milk with sugar, Rose water, Sweet buttermilk.
Foods to Avoid
Avoid fried and heavy meals, Meat Products, Fatty Bakery Products, Chocolates, Cold Drinks, Junk Fast Food, Spicy Food, Hot Foods, Chilies, Sauces, Curd, Alcoholic Products, Tamarind, Vinegar, Eggs, Sea Food (Like Fish, Shrimps, Lobster, Oyster) and other substances that produce burning sensations.
It is beneficial to use this product with "Netacid Syrup" or "Avipatikar Churna" dissolves with Luke warm water after each meal.
In the case of high acidic condition (When the person feels acid in the mouth) Netacid capsules may also be taken with half teaspoon of body pure in half cup of lukewarm water. Take before meal or 20 minutes after each meal.
