Chanderprabha Vati is a classical polyherbal formulation of 37 ingredient of plants and mineral origin. It is used to reduce excess of Kapha Dosha (Water Humor) and disorders associated with it.

Chanderprabha Vati and Ailments
Urinary Tact Infection (UTI): Painful Micturation, Frequency increased but not satisfactory, Burning Micturation, Haematuria, Pyuria, Renalcolic, Nausea, Urinary tract pain radiating down the tract, Albuminurea.
Causes: When excess Vata (Air), Pitta (Fire, Agni), Kapha (Water) or Ama (Toxins) either individually or collectively come into the urinary tract, there is obstruction causing Dysuria.
When Kapha (Water) or Ama (Toxins) blocks the urinary tract there is heaviness and the urine passes in turbid when renal calculations obstruct the urinary tract or there is infection. There could be internal wounds causing bleeding and pus during micturation.
Dietary Cause: Eating heavy indigestible food Sweet, Cold Fermented Sour, Starchy Food, Newly Harvested Food, Grains, Curd, Yogurt, Meat Products, overeating, etc. cause above problem.

Prostate Enlargement: It is a condition that adversely affects the males. The Prostate gland is a part of the male genital organ. It surrounds the urinary bladder outlet. The primary function of it is to secrete the liquid that constitutes a major portion of seminal fluid.
There is one main consequence of this ailment, the person will have problem in urination. The problem arises as the enlarged gland puts undue pressure on the bladder outlet. The direct result can be inability to urinate even though there may be natural urination tendency.
Symptoms: The common symptoms of this ailment is increase in frequency of urination during day time and also in night. One may even feel burning sensation while urinating.

Male Infertility: The incapability of male sperms resulting in prevention of conception is called male infertility. According to Ayurveda it is called 'Napunskatava'. It is due to the vitiated Tridoshas and improper 'Shukradhatu' or 'Oja' which is the end product of metabolism of all Dhatus and responsible for reproduction.
Excess intake of fried, heavy food and heavy beans etc results in Ama (Mucus and Toxins) and Vata (Air). When Aam (Mucus and Toxins) get mixed in the plasma and circulate throughout the body it affects Rasa Dhatu (Which regulates hormone and enzyme secretion in the body). Hormonal imbalance leads to different gonado-tropic deficiency and results in oligospermia, or Azoospermia.
When Aam with in the metabolic cycle, Agni (Metabolic fire) at Shukra Dhatu (Reproductive Tissues) and sperm generation is affected and there is oligospermia or Azoospermia. Aam (Mucus and Toxins) being sticky and mucus blocks the reproductive channels. According to Ayurveda Shukra (Semen) is very sensitive to heat and cool in nature.
Excessive intake of hot, sour, fermented and chilly food increases Pitta (Fire) which is being hot in nature. It either reduces sperm count or eliminates them completely.
Situations like malnutrition and weakness of all Dhatus (Tissues) leads to weakening of Shukra (Reproductive Tissue). This further causes infertility since the tissues are incapable of generating a new life.
Azoospermia: Absence of spermatozoa in semen results in lack of Sexual Desire, Tiredness, Lethargy, Loss of Appetite, Hyperacidity, Hormonal Imbalance, Impotency.
Digospermia: Sperm count is less than required, Testes function abnormal, Hormonal level low or high, addictions like smoking drinking alcohol, toxicity, insomnia, weakness, impotency are seen.

Diabetes: In Ayurveda Diabetes is known as "PRAMEH" (Diabetes Insipidus) and MADHUMEH (Diabetes Mellitus).
Diabetes is more common in men than women. In human body insulin in secreted by Pancreas gland which is connected with the digestive system. Insulin helps the blood to convert sugar into energy. The Pancreas gland retains as much as sugar is required by body and burns the rest of it. But if Pancreas gland stops secreting insulin or its quality is reduced or there is some obstruction due to some reasons it leads to Diabetes. In these circumstances sugar gets into the blood and does not get converted into energy and is expelled out of the body through urine.

- Maintain a healthy and balanced diet.
- Take bitter, medium spicy food and astringent food which are most beneficial, Fruits and leaves of drum sticks and kantola are very useful.
- Fenugreek (Methi) seeds when given in varying doses of 25 gm to 100 gm. Daily diminish reactive Hyperglycemia in diabetic patients.
- Do not take products made of fine flour (Maida) and rice.
- Foods of onion, Garlic, High fiber containing foods, Beans, Lentils, Amla, Bitter gourd, Lady Finger, Trump, Turmeric, Dates, Fruits, products made of beans are beneficial.
