Rock Salt is more carminative, laxative tonic than the ordinary common salt.
In Ayurveda it is used in colic, indigestion and enlargement of the Liver and spleen and regarded as the best of Salts.
Prepared Salts are more commonly used due to its low cost and easy availability. Rock salt purified by nature and is stronger and more superior to ordinary salt.
It is obtained from the mines of Sindh, or the country among the Indus. This salt is obtained from deep mines. The rocks are somewhat pink in color, and the more transparent rocks indicate its maximum purity. It also contains some parts of Magnesium and Potassium which is more superior.
When used as per the natural requirement of the body, it improves appetite, digestive fire, digestion (when used with meals), and expel wind from the digestive systems. Beneficial to the eyes, and helps in healing of wounds and improves bile secretion.
