Stomach Aid acts as an appetizer (Deepak), digestive (Pachak) and anti-spasmodic. It alleviates Vatta (air) & Kapha (water) & acts as binding tonic.

Dysentery: Dysentery is an acute inflammation of the large intestine characterized by diarrhoea with blood and mucus in stools. Its causes are bacillary or amoebic infection.

Bacillary Dysentery: Bacillary Dysentery is endemic all over the world. Spread may occur through contaminated food or flies, but contact through unwashed hands after defecations is, by far, the most important factor in a moderately severe illness. The patient complains of diarrhoea, colicky abdominal pain and tenesmus. The stools are usually small and, after the first few evacuations, contain blood and purulent with little fecel matter. Further, there is frequent fever with dehydration and weakness, if the diarrhoea persists. There is usually tenderness over the colon.

Amoebic dysentery: This usually runs a chronic course with grumbling abdominal pains and two or more unformed stools a day. Periods of Diarrhoea alternating with constipation are common. Mucus is usually passed, sometimes with streaks of blood, and the stools often have an offensive odour. There may be tenderness along the colon line and usually more marked over the caecum and pelvic colon.
