Tulsi (ocimum sanctum)
Other Names: Ocimum Basilicum, Sweet Basil, Babui Tulsi/ Bantulsi
Tulsi Leaves powder: Anti Virus for cold and flu.
Action and uses as per Ayurveda: Tonic to digestive, nervous and respiratory system. Antibacterial, antiseptic, diaphoretic, useful in coughs, colds, fevers, headaches, lung problems, abdominal distention, nasal congestion, nerve tissue strengthening, sinus congestion, cleanses and clears the brain and nerves, relieves depression, difficult urination, prevent the accumulation of fat in the body, obstinate skin diseases, rheumatism, first stages of many cancers, builds the immune system. Tulsi contains trace mineral copper, needed to absorb iron.
Precaution: Excess Pitta (fire).
Note: The quality and part of the plant used are highly important in the manufacturing and processing of herbal powders. Certain parts are more potent and effective than others. Fiber and other unwanted material should be removed as they do not have any herbal properties (except to increase the weight and quantity).
